HOW IT WORKS
STEP 1: REGISTRATION
-
Please fill out our online Parent Registration form.
-
We will email you the Services Agreement form separately. After reviewing it thoroughly, both the parties will sign the Services Agreement during the in-home consultation.
Consultation
Within 24-48 hours of receiving the application form, we will contact you to schedule either an complimentary in-home consultation or a meeting at our office, whichever is convenient for you. Currently we schedule the consultations on weekends. They normally last 1-2 hours, depending on the complexity of the family’s requirements. We will collect the information necessary to help us assess the qualifications you need in a candidate, discussing your needs, budget, and lifestyle.
STEP 2: CANDIDATE REVIEW
Nanny Search
Once we have the necessary information, we will search potential candidates currently listed in our nanny pool. If necessary, we will also advertise the position. Any new applicants are required to undergo the same qualification process as our other candidates.
Portfolio
We will select one or more prescreened candidates who match your needs, budget and lifestyle. We will forward their portfolios to you for consideration. The portfolios will include:
-
Resume with photo
-
References
-
Copies of certifications and licenses
STEP 3: CANDIDATE INTERVIEWS
You will decide how many of the candidates you wish to interview, and whether you prefer a phone interview prior to an in-person meetings. We will assist in scheduling interviews with potential candidates. If none of the initial candidates seem satisfactory, we will continue searching until we find the right one for you. Please be advised that the registration fee will be charged only if you decide to schedule an interview with the candidates of your choice.
Our agency will contact all references for validation and comments. We recommend you contact the references directly as well.
Trial
We highly recommend that parents have at least a day of working trial, which will benefit both the parents and the candidate. For parents, this is an opportunity to see how the candidate mingles and interacts with your child(ren); for the candidate, it is a chance to experience first-hand a day with the family. Depending on the parents' choice, a working trial can range from a few hours to a few days. During the trial period, the candidate will be paid at the agreed rate for the position.
Nanny Selection
Once you have made a selection, it’s time to make an offer. The offer is made by the parents directly to the candidate. The candidate may accept the offer, negotiate or decline.
Background Check
Once you and the candidate are satisfied with each other and are ready to sign the parents-nanny agreement, we will arrange for the candidate to undergo several background checks. These include checks by the California Department of Justice’s California Criminal History System, the California Child Abuse Central Index, and the FBI’s criminal history database. We will have the candidate’s fingerprint registered with Trustline, California’s only authorized screening program and registry for in-home childcare providers.
Tibetan Sitter will use all its resources and expertise to guide you through the selection process as smoothly as possible.
